TechValley announces 5,000 scholarship programmes under Google Career Certification 2023

Information, Science and Technology department in Sindh has joined hands with TechValley Pakistan and signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide 5,000 scholarships for youth, transgenders and students from government schools. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah witnessed the launching of Google Career Certification Scholarship Programme 2023.

While talking on the occassion, CM Murad Ali said that the scholarship would be offered to the students mentioned above to provide them with IT-based training so they would earn a respectable livelihood.

Tech Valley Pakistan had collaborated with Google to conduct early coding programmes in specific schools of the southern district. The children were imparted with IT skills specifically early coding programmes and the training process was coordinated by IS&T department.

According to details, Google has shown interest to expand this acitvity across Sindh. In future, Tech Valley would will commence with programs such as Digital Google Garage, Google Cloud Solutions, Be Internet Awesome, CS (Computer Science) First and Project Management certifications for individuals and youth of the province.

Google has committed to increase the education sector’s capacity in regards of education tools, teachers’ training and certifications, empowering the IT staff and also transforming computer labs.

Currently, Google is offering free certified courses for the youth of Sindh in IT Automation, Data Analysis, Project Management, UX Design, Digital Marketing E-commerce, Cyber Security, Advance Data Analytics, Advance Business Intelligence and more.

The total number of scholarships offered by Google, as mentioned above, are 5,000. Moreover, the total training hours for each certification would be 160 periods and the courses would be based on a 4 month period.

The program is also highly inclusive as it provides opportunities to women and people with special abilities so they equip themselves with IT skillset and get a variety of different employment options. The certification would be provided online through Coursera.
