Tesla’s Executives to meet PM Imran Khan to Discuss Initiating Electric Cars in Pakistan
A recent development has disclosed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet with the executives at Tesla, Inc. to discuss investment opportunities in the Pakistani Electric Vehicle (EV) market.
Tesla, Inc. is an American electric vehicle and clean energy company owned by the famous aerospace manufacturer Elon Musk, also the CEO of Space X.
Based in Palo Alto, California, Tesla produces electric cars, battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar panels and solar roof tiles, and other related products and services.
The news came from the renowned anchor, journalist, and columnist, Sabir Shakir, through a video clip shared on Javed Afridi’s social media page.
In the video, Sabir Shakir expresses that Javed Afridi, the renowned business executive, entrepreneur, and a key stakeholder in MG Motors Pakistan, has already had several meetings with the officials at Tesla, Inc.

He said that the world’s largest and most prolific EV maker has already shown interest in investing in the Pakistani automotive market.
The government introduced Pakistan’s new EV policy late last year, wherein it had announced several benefits and incentives for both interested investors in the regional EV sector and potential buyers.
Javed Afridi has been the spearhead of campaigning for EVs to be made the norm in Pakistan.

Additionally, MG Motors, of which Afridi is a key stakeholder, is also set to introduce the ZS EV in Pakistan, reportedly in the first quarter of 2021.
The video also showed that Sabir Shakir highlights that the country’s economy is on a rapid upward trajectory and is likely to yield several positive outcomes, especially for the automotive sector.
