Nawaz Sharif was born in a wealthy industrialist family on the 25th of December, 1949. He is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Muhammad Sharif. After completing early education from Saint Anthony’s High School, he obtained a Law degree from Punjab University. He married Kulsoom Nawaz in April of 1971.
Nawaz Sharif began his political career by joining Pakistan Muslim League during a period when many industries, including Sharif’s steel business, were nationalized by Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Soon he progressed from becoming the Chief Minister Punjab to taking charge of PML-N and eventually Prime Minister of Pakistan on the 1st of November, 1990.
