Throwback video: When Jibran Nasir Walked Off an Interview After Host Started Discussing PM Imran Khan’s Private Life

Recently, an old video of the Pakistani civil rights activist and lawyer, Jibran Nasir, went viral on the internet. In the viral clip, Jibran walked off an interview after the Tv show host, Rana Mubashir, started discussing Prime Minister Imran Khan’s private life.

Following this, the civil rights activist took to his official Twitter account and shared the video, and said:

“It was January 2015; the Tv Channel was Express, and Rana Mubashir was hosting the show. Rumors of the second marriage of Imran Khan were brought up. I cautioned the anchor not to discuss private life on a news show, he insisted, and I walked off mid-show live. I prefer principles over convenience. Not everyone gets it.”

Jibran Nasir is a lawyer by profession and is known for criticizing state policies regarding banned organizations in Pakistan and calling attention to protecting minorities.

He has been a trustee at Elaj Trust and founded the NGO, Never Forget Pakistan. Jibran is also involved in advocacy for marginalized communities through Pakistan For All.
