Outside the twilight bliss of “Howdy Modi” where thousands from the Indian diaspora welcomed the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there happened another show just outside the venue to stage protests against the severe human rights violations in IOK.

According to the report by Aljazeera, the journalists were also barred from filming those counter-protests by the pro-Modi subjects and some were even attacked.

Indian administration claims normalcy coming back into the region of Kashmir but public grievances in the Muslim majority state are still at large as people there are still deprived of due healthcare, and trade facilities mainly due to ongoing communication blockade and residents still are compelled to stay at homes due to fear of violence at the hands of military that is in extra presence nowadays.

In order to highlight the grim atrocities that are being carried out in the Occupied region and in a show of solidarity with its people the iconic Time Square lit up displaying the visuals of “Stand with Kashmir,” and “Free Kashmir.”

According to the media reports, the screen display at the Time Square is sponsored by Pakistani diaspora to highlight the grave human rights violations that are being carried out in Kashmir at the hands of Indian troops.

The protesters encamped in front of the United Nations are likely to raise their voice against the Indian aggression by the time when Narendra Modi will address the UN later this week.
