Pakistan’s automotive industry has welcomed electric cars after the ECC ratified the Electric Vehicle policy in mid-2020. The policy laid out the necessary information needed by the manufacturers to justify their launching of EVs in Pakistan. The aim is to have at least 30% of all vehicles running on electricity by 2030 in Pakistan.

3. Zotye Z100

Since many Chinese automobile companies are on their way to make debut in Pakistani automobile markets, Zotye is one of them. Zotye is on its way to launching its cheapest car based on Suzuki Alto’s seventh-generation platform Zotye 100 in Pakistan. Zotye Z100 was launched in China in 2013 as a subcompact hatchback, while its all-electric version was presented in October 2014. Topsun Motors, in collaboration with Zotye China, successfully launched the first electric car automobile company in Pakistan, and its showroom was inaugurated in Lahore on 3rd January 2020 under the implementation of the National Electric Vehicle Policy in Pakistan.

This small hatchback is a two-wheel-drive car with a front-engine, and its small size makes it best on rush roads of Pakistan. Bookings for Zotye Z100 have been started at the Topsun Motors showroom in Lahore, and some of the units can be seen running roads of our country.


It is powered by a 1000 cc engine having three inline cylinders. EFI TNN3G10K engine is paired with a front-wheel-drive option while the engine produces the maximum power of 68 hp at 6200 rpm and torque of 90 Nm at 3500 to 4000 rpm. The all-electric version is paired with a 13.5 KW motor backed by a lithium-ion battery that takes almost one hour to charge by eighty percent. The 13.5 kW motor generates a torque of 145 Nm and provides a combined mileage of 200 kilometers when fully charged with a top speed of ninety kilometers per hour. The fuel-powered Z100 gives a mileage of 18.9 kilometers per liter with a fuel tank capacity of thirty-five liters. It accelerates 0 to 100 kilometers per liter in 11.2 seconds with a maximum speed of 150 kilometers per hour. It offers you a five-speed manual transmission with smooth gear changes, while the automatic variant will also be available soon in Pakistan.


The design of the Z100 is quite similar to the Suzuki Alto seventh-generation, having similar headlights on its front bumper. The vertical chrome grill is designed on the center of the Bonnet, while fog lights are also equipped with it assisting you in extreme weather conditions. The main difference between Alto and Z100 is the different colored headlights which show that Zotye Z100’s headlight is matte black with screen glass while Alto has a white transparent glass headlight. The shape and design of alloy wheels are also slightly different in Z100, having 14 inches dimensions and more attractive than Suzuki Alto. It is available in many exterior color options that include blue, silver, and white.

The interior cabin of Zotye Z100 is a statement of comfort and stylish looks colored in brown and beige color theme, giving the cabin a two-tone configuration. It is a five-seater car having cloth-covered seats giving passengers average comfort and relaxation. It is equipped with a digital mileage meter and speedometer, while a proper infotainment screen has not been introduced yet. Still, it does have an FM radio and auxiliary cable audio system.

4. Audi e-Tron

5. Crown Electric Cars

The Crown Group has been in the business of making auto parts since 1963 and has recently been working on many projects involving electric vehicles. The Crown Group currently has plans for two electric vehicles to be launched in Pakistan at different prices and including a 3-seater car and a 4-seater car with improved features. Names for the cars have not been disclosed at this point, as well as the exact launch date, but it is expected to be out very soon.

The first version of the Crown electric car has a 3-seater capacity with a BLDC Motor 1200W electric engine. It has dry lead-acid batteries (Lithium) with a 60V 80Ah/4.8kWh. It can cover about 80-85 km on a full charge. The maximum speed that can be reached is 40-45 km/h, and the total cost per kilometer is estimated at around PKR 1.20/km.

The price of the new Crown Electric Car having a 3-seater capacity is PKR 570,000.

The second version has a 4-seater capacity with the same engine (BLDC Motor 1200W) as the first version. Except for the seating capacity, all other features are also the same.

The price of the new Crown Electric Car having a 4-seater capacity is PKR 630,000.
