Topper of AJK’s PSC exam arrested for protesting against nepotism

The topper of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission exam, Sehrish Sultan was arrested for protesting against nepotism outside the Prime Minister Secretariat in Muzaffarabad.

Hailing from Sudhanoti district of Azad Kashmir, Sehrish topped the PSC exam but is still suffering at the hands of choked and flawed system. Despite scoring the first position, she has not been appointed to any post yet.

She alleged that Law Minister Farooq Tahir has appointed his niece on the concerned post. To raise her voice and ask for her due right, she recorded her protest alongside her senior uncle.

However, the law enforcement agencies took her into custody for it. Not just this, they were even dragged on roads before being arrested. Prime Minister AJ&K Raja Farooq Haider Khan took notice of the incident and reproved the concerned officials. He also directed the education minister to contact the affected individuals and prepare a report on what actually happened.

“We were not allowed to protest and physically assaulted while being moved to the prison. Now, this is all being done to suit political agendas. If my issue is not solved, I will do what I can to have it registered” – she said talking to a local media source.
