Seven new locations identified in Gwadar with potential to turn into hot tourist spots
Reports state that tenders have been awarded for two out of seven sites identified for tourist resorts.
According to reports, Balochistan authorities are making an effort to develop the Gwadar. The government of Balochistan has identified seven new sites in Gwadar for the establishment of tourist resorts.
A briefing was held at the Ministry of Maritime, during which the Balochistan authorities described the development plan of Gwadar. The government of Balochistan informed that planning is underway to build new petrol pumps on the coastal highway in Gwadar.
Reports state that tenders have been awarded for two out of seven sites identified for tourist resorts. According to sources, the rest of the contracts would be awarded in the next few months.

The Chinese government will also be requested to encourage investors to relocate industry to Gwadar. In this regard, the Gwadar Port Master Plan will be restored, and land acquisition will be carried out on a priority basis.
During the meeting, the implementation of policies and procedures leading to more efficient transshipment and transit in Gwadar were also discussed. The media sources stated that the Transshipment and Transit Trade Rules, including China and CARs, would be notified regarding recent developments.
The meeting also concluded that Pakistan would ascertain the route from China to Uzbekistan and Afghanistan to Uzbekistan to open trade with CARs as Uzbekistan shares a border with all other CAR’s countries.
The government officials stated that the One Window Act had been passed. According to the act, all customs and related clearing and processing will now be integrated through a one-window system to speed up cargo movement from port premises.
Things are looking up for Gwadar as the Balochistan government is considering various initiatives to develop the city. Gwadar citizens are now hoping that the implementation of the planning begins soon.
