Trent Boult wants to repeat Shaheen Afridi vs India: Virat Kohli Responds

The Kiwis' fast bowler, Trent Boult, is hopeful he can do something similar to what Shaheen Afridi did against India.

Shaheen Shah Afridi had the whole cricket world talking following his fiery spell against India in Pakistan’s opening match. The left arm pacer got the ball to swing at over 140 kph.

India and New Zealand will be up against each other in the all important clash of the T20 world cup tomorrow. The Kiwis’ fast bowler, Trent Boult, is hopeful he can do something similar to what Shaheen Afridi did against India.

Trent Boult was all praise for the Pakistani pacer in his pre-match press conference. The Kiwi left arm pacer said: “I thought the way Shaheen bowled the other night was amazing. But there are some amazing quality batsmen in the Indian batting line-up.”

He added that his team would try to get some early wickets and be nice and clear and accurate with the bowl. “Hopefully, from my point of view, it swings around a little bit and I can do what Shaheen did the other night,” signed off the 32-year-old.

Replying to Trent Boult’s comments, Virat Kohli acknowledged the quality in New Zealand bowling attack.

“If he is motivated to emulate Shaheen, we are motivated to counter him. We have played against them for a long time,” Virat Kohli said in the pre-match presser in Dubai.
