Education, although, is one of the basic rights provisions in Pakistan still many within the country are deprived of it probably because of lack of awareness, socio-economic constraints or other ills prevailing in the society and when it comes to girls’ education with poor social standing the sufferings are understandably high.
But kudos to the daughter of a truck driver who scored highest marks in Punjab University beating all odds. Noshaba Zafar – a B.Sc. student in VIP Girls Degree College Talagang stood first by obtaining 714 marks out of total 800. She has plans to attain higher education in the future. Explaining about her success she said that she’s not one of those students who spare time only for studies, I kept times for other activities as well adding that she has always given the education topmost priority.
“I want to be a lecturer to serve our people. I want to fulfill all my late father’s wishes,” Noshaba said in a TV Programme Naya Din on SAMAA.
The principal of that college also opened up in the praise of Noshaba and said that this is the record on its own as no one was able to get such high marks in the years’-long history of Punjab University.
Iqra Anmol got the second position in the same exams and Abeeha Fatima secured the third position. Both the girls have scored 682 and 673 marks out of the total 800 respectively.
