Trump’s recent racist remarks have caused an outrage across the globe. Not that its the first of his statements that have caused such a reaction, but his extreme remarks about the immigrants has offended people, who especially want to protect America’s unique heterogeneous community.
Trump called Haiti and African nations as ‘shithole’ countries during an immigration meeting on Thursday, that caused a strong reaction from inside and outside America.
He also recently canceled his visit to London, which as being presumed by sources and Mayor of London, is due to the fear of the reaction of his statements.
Similarly, a strong reaction has been witnessed across the globe, debunking his view and harsh remarks about immigrants.
Botswana has expressed deep displeasure about his statements and have called them ‘highly irresponsible’.
The country has further asked the ambassador “to clarify if Botswana is regarded as a ‘shithole’ country given that there are Botswana nationals residing in the US”
The African Union called them alarming. UN Human Rights Spokesman Rupert Coleville has also explicitly expressed that the remarks were shocking and there are no other words to describe them except ‘racist’.
Paul Altidor, Haiti’s Us Ambassador, has also expressed his concerns saying that they are not there to only take advantage.
“We’re simply immigrants who come here to take advantage of the US is wrong’’ (Source: BBC News)
Apart from the global reaction, the general public had a lot to say about too. Here are some of the reactions accumulated:
Does anybody else find it ironic that a man who paints on a fake tan every morning hates brown people? #shitholestrong

If you @TheDemocrats would have put up a half way decent candidate for prez we wouldn't be dealing with this Trump guy. But no, you had to have Hillary. Why can't decent normal people run for president? #shitholestrong

@GOP, are you racist? As a former college professor of immigrant students (including from #shitholestrong nations), I would love to hear you extol the virtues of our wonderful melting pot. When you are old and infirm, the person who will take care of you will be an immigrant.

We are more alike than we are different. We are indeed, on many levels, a “global village”(Marshall McLuhan). I stand with my brothers & sisters of all colours and nations. #shitholeSTRONG.

I don't normally condescend to address such ill-considered, immature thoughts, but in this case I'd like to ask what we should call 19th-century Germany when my family & @realDonaldTrump's family came to the US, and why didn't they stay there? #shitholestrong https://t.co/k7YO9bmYDf

@realDonaldTrump "43% of immigrants from ‘shithole’ African countries have a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to 33% of the overall American population. Nigerian-Americans, for instance, have a median household income well above the American average." #shitholestrong
