After dismissing South Africa’s Sune Luus in the third ODI of ICC Women’s Championship, Pakistan’s Sana Mir has become the most successful ODI spinner in the world. It was Sana’s 147th ODI wicket in her 118th appearance. Though it was just an ordinary match for the rest of the world it unquestionably had a special place for Pakistan.

The former Pakistan women’s team captain Sana Mir has now taken the first spot, sending West Indies’ player Anisa Mohammed and Australia’s Lisa Sthalekar on number three on the list of all-time successful bowlers.

ICC congratulated Sana, admiring her achievements.

She’s just taken her 147th ODI wicket meaning that she now has more wickets in the format than any other female spinner in history ? ?

Pakistan off-spinner is also the third highest wicket-taker after pacers Jhulan Goswami of India (218 wickets) and Cathryn Fitzpatrick of Australia (180). Before this incredible feat, Sana Mir had also become the first Pakistani bowler to head the ICC rankings in October of 2018.

In a society where cricket is seen as a male-dominated field, Sana’s achievements are not only a reason for Pakistan to hold its head up but also an inspiration. Pakistan has been doing remarkably good in women cricket. With being worthy of appreciation due to the talent, additionally, the way they are advancing in the field with limited resources is encouraging.

Recently, the team’s ranking has also improved. After a tie in the 3rd ODI of the series against South, Africa, Pakistan has climbed to the 5th position in the ICC Women’s Championship.
