Two Polio Lady Workers Killed As Unknown Men Open Fire On The Team In Swabi
Attacks on polio workers are frequent in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan
Two polio workers were killed on duty as their team was attacked in the Swabi’s Parmoli area according to Swabi’s District Police Officer Imran Shahid. Two unknown men opened fire on the team on Wednesday.
A lady health worker was killed on the spot due to the firing, and the other was seriously injured.
LRH Medical Director Dr. Khalid Masood said that the injured lady worker was taken to Kalu Khan Hospital and was later rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, where she passed away.
Three bullet shells:
The police were able to uncover three bullet shells from the crime scene, according to the DOP. Despite the incident, the security of the area is not under High alert.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan took notice of the attack and directed the Inspector General of Police Sanaullah Abbasi to submit a report on the attack. The Chief Minister vowed to take strict action against the attackers.

Attacks on polio workers are frequent in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Incidents like these become major hurdles in the Government’s fight to eliminate polio from Pakistan
The National Strategic Advisory Group (NSAG) was initiated by the Government last year to tackle polio eradication. The NSGA has representatives from leading political parties who have worked on polio eradication programs in previous Governments.
