UAE Crown Prince announces $200 million to support SMEs in Pakistan

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamad bin Zayed has directed the Khalifa Fund to allocate $200 million to help small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) in Pakistan.

In a tweet on Thursday, the Finance Advisor to the PM Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said we thank the Crown Prince for announcing $200 million to support Pakistan.

Small business promotion and Jobs

The Advisor further said, “The money will be consumed on small business promotion and jobs. This support is an indication of the expanding economic relations and friendship between Pakistan and the UAE.”

The UAE news outlet reported on Thursday, that the initiative targets a boosting innovation in projects to support the government of Pakistan to build a balanced and sustainable economy. It added, “It is also part of close ties between the UAE and Pakistan and the keenness of their leaderships to strengthen relations.”

Short visit on Thursday

The Crown Prince came to Pakistan on a short visit on Thursday afternoon. During his visit, he held a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan and senior members of the government.
