UAE expresses interest in establishing a furniture-making unit in Punjab

The purpose of establishing new industrial estates and special economic zones is to step up the industrialization.

Investors from UAE are very keen to establish a furniture-making unit in Punjab. In this regard, on Friday, Darwaish Almansoori, former UAE Ambassador called on Mian Aslam Iqbal, the provincial minister for industries and trade.

Furniture Unit in Punjab:

During the meeting, the investment opportunities in Punjab were highlighted. Investors showed interest in establishing a manufacturing furniture unit in Punjab.

While discussing with the delegation, Mian Aslam Iqbal highlighted the favorable conditions of Punjab, which make it the most suitable province for both local and foreign trade.

Punjab Board of Investment and Trade CEO and other officers’ concerns were also presented in the meeting. Mian Aslam Iqbal said that there was a wide scope of investment in the furniture business.

“We will welcome the investment from the UAE investors in the furniture-making sector. UAE investors should establish furniture making units; the government will provide a place to them in special economic zones”.

He said and further added that the Punjab Board of Investment and trade will contribute to all possible cooperation with them.

Topmost Priority:

Mian Aslam Iqbal said that the idea to bring new investment in Punjab was the topmost priority of our government. The objective of manufacturing new industries and commercial regions is to step-up industrialization in the province.

Minister of Industries and Trade further stated that in Faisalabad’s industrial zone more than 1 billion dollar investment has been made. Moreover, billions of dollars agreement have been signed with foreign organizations.
