UGRAD Program 2023 for Pakistani students: How to apply, eligibility criteria

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has announced the Undergraduate Semester Exchange (UGRAD) Program for the year 2023.
The application deadline for application is 21st September 2022, and the program is open to Pakistani students who are interested in experiencing a semester in the US.

The following benefits will be awarded to those who qualify for the program:
- Limited allowance for books
- Monthly maintenance allowance
- Sickness and accident coverage
- Round-trip airfare
- Tuition and fees
- Housing and meals
Eligibility Criteria
Those who fulfill the following steps are eligible for the UGRAD Program 2023:
- In their 14th or 15th year of formal education
- Younger than 25 years old
- Pakistani nationals
- Enrolled in a university or college in Pakistan and are committed to return to their country after the completion of the program
- Applicants have to submit the most recent and old transcripts with application
- Women, individuals from KPK, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, Southern Punjab and Northern Sindh are encouraged to apply
Students will be ineligible if:
- Employees of the US Department of State, Fulbright Organization, or USAID and their fiancés, siblings, dependents, parents, and children
- Students who are in the first or final year of their university
- Dual US/Pakistani nationals or permanent US residents
How to apply
In order to apply, applications have to be submitted online and paper submissions will not be considered. Similarly, all application materials, transcripts, certificates, and degrees, have to be uploaded with the online application. Only those candidates who are selected will be asked to submit reference letters.
Duration: The time duration for the program is one semester, meaning that half attend in the Fall and the other half in Spring.
Announcements: The tentative announcement will be made during September/October.
When grantees start studies: Grantees will start studies in the Fall of 2023.
Language Requirements
Applications whose selection has been finalized will have to take the TOEFL exam, and USEFP will administer the test.
