The University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP) has banned the shooting of videos by couples on its premises after a couple’s video went viral on social media.

A couple could be seen shooting a video, probably for TikTok, in a deserted part of the university campus in the video.

The girl is wearing a bridal suit indicating that they are newlywed and want to shoot a small video for the social media platform or share it with family and friends.

After the video went viral, the university administration has issued a notification banning shooting of such videos by outsiders at its campus.

“A university is a place where outsiders shouldn’t be allowed in the first place, let alone the shooting of entertainment videos for TikTok by the newlywed couples,” said the UAP spokesman, Muhammad Ilyas, while talking to The Express Tribune.

The spokesperson added that the campus is not for couple photoshoots, couple video shoots, or entertainment activities.

“Many people, especially couples, come here, take pictures and make videos that are then shared on social media for which administration is blamed frequently,” he said, adding that the decision is made to ban such activities.

“We’re under pressure in this regard,” he said.

The matter was brought up after the pictures and videos of a couple from the University of Punjab were circulated on social media.

Some people disapproved that such activities were also going on at the UAP unchecked.
