HEC invites fully funded Ph.D. applications for Scholarships at top universities in the USA. Under the US-Pak Knowledge corridor scholarship, candidates will be selected to pursue a doctorate at top American universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT, Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, and 250+ US universities ranked at the top of the world.

The US-Pak Knowledge Corridor aims to provide opportunities for 1,000 Pakistani intelligence development professionals in the US. In the first phase, HEC sent 1500 Ph.D. scholars to leading US universities.

Here’s everything you need to know about the US-Pak Knowledge corridor scholarship program:

US-Pak Knowledge Corridor Scholarships Benefits

Category I – Scholarship (Admission in top 50 QS World Ranked US University)

* Fully funded (Except stipend and Health Insurance which is at par with Category -II. Initial Settlement allowance is not offered) 

* subject to approval

Category II – Scholarship (Admission in top 300 QS World Ranked US University)

  1. Stipend/ Living Expenses                    USD 19,200/- Per Annum
  2. Health Insurance                                  USD 2,000/- Per Annum (As per actual)
  3. Tuition and Fee                       (Up to)  USD 12,000/- Per Annum
  4. Return Air Ticket                                   PKR 250,000/- Per Annum (Once in scholarship tenure)

Category III – Scholarship (Admission in designated US University along with tuition waiver)

  1. Initial Settlement                                  USD 5,000/- (Once in the entire period of scholarship)
  2. Stipend/ Living Expenses                    USD 19,200/- Per Annum
  3. Health Insurance                                  USD 2,000/- Per Annum (As per actual)
  4. Return Air Ticket                                   PKR 250,000/- (Once in scholarship tenure)

Eligibility Criteria

General:

  • Pakistani/ AJK nationals
  • Minimum 4 years bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.Sc./B. E (16 years formal education))
  • Maximum two 2nd Divisions and no 3rd Division in the entire academic career. However, in the case of Category – I & II (Admission in top 50 and 300 QS) Scholarship, a maximum of one 2nd Division in an entire academic career is acceptable.
  • Maximum age on the closing date shall not exceed:
    • 40 years in case of regular faculty members of Public Sector Universities/ Govt Colleges and Researchers of approved/registered R & D Organizations
    • 35 years in all other cases
  • Must not availing any other Scholarship.
  • Those having Ph.D. Degree are not eligible.

Academic:

Category -I (Admission in top 50 QS Ranked US University)

  1. Satisfy general eligibility criteria
  2. Secure admission in top 50 QS Ranked US University
  3. GRE – General or HAT Score (Minimum 60 Percentile/ percent)

Category – II (Admission in top 300 QS Ranked US University)

  1. Satisfy the General Eligibility Criteria.
  2. Having GRE – General or HAT Score (Minimum 60 Percentile/ percent).
  3. Secure admission in one of top 300 QS World Ranked US University
  4. The total cost of study of the university shall not be more than USD 33,200/- P.A (Including Tuition and fee of USD 12,000/- P.A.)

Category – III (Admission along with complete tuition waiver)

  1. Satisfy the General Eligibility Criteria
  2. Secure admission along with a complete tuition waiver. The waiver from the University shall be for the entire Ph.D. program.

How to apply for US-Pak Knowledge Corridor Scholarship 2022

Deadline to Apply: the 28th of February, 2022

​​​HEC provides opportunities for applicants to pursue Ph.D. studies in Top US Universities under the “US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor”.  Interested applicants can apply online through the link:

New User Registration:

To log in, please visit https://scholarships.hec.gov.pk/
To create a first-time user profile, fill in the available form on the link mentioned above.

Click on ‘Register’ for new users and follow the steps stated below:

  • You will be required to create a user ID using your CNIC (without dashes) and select your password.
  • Create an Account and fill in the required information available on the screen.
  • Click and obtain ‘Mobile Code’ on your provided mobile no. for further process. (Currently, MNC / Ported numbers are not supported)
  • After receiving the code on your mobile, enter the code.
  • Enter your email ID and click Send Code. You will receive a code in your provided email.
  • Please enter a valid email ID.
  • Perform code verification and click on submit.
  • You will be registered successfully. Please check your email for further information.
  • You will be required to enter your created ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’ then ‘Sign in’ on the HEC portal.
  • Complete online profile section-wise at https://scholarships.hec.gov.pk/
  • Click ‘Scholarships and Grants’ on left ‘Navigation’ and then ‘US-PAK Knowledge Corridor Application’.
  • Now follow instructions, fill and submit the form successfully.
