Ali Zaidi, a Pakistani-born American has been picked as the US president-elect Joe Biden's Deputy Adviser.
The new president-elect, Joe Biden, has chosen Ali Zaidi, a Pakistani-American as the deputy adviser on the United States’ Domestic Climate Change Policy.
Reportedly, Zaidi is a Harvard graduate who has been acting as Deputy Secretary of Climate Policy to Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York who is also the Chairman of Climate Policy and Finance for New York.
Prior to this, the new Deputy Adviser had served in the Obama administration, occupying various climate-related positions including the Associate Director for Natural Resources at the Office of Management and Budget Associate Director.
Along with this, Zaidi has also contributed to the Energy Department and the Domestic Policy Council during the Obama presidency.
The 33-year-old was also one of the advisers to the Democratic Party’s Beto O’Rourke. O’Rourke was one of first the candidates to release an extensive climate plan.
