Birth Tourism

The Trump issued new visa rules aimed toward restricting birth tourism, during which women visit the USA to offer birth so their children can have US citizenship.

Applicants Visa is going to rejected if they’re determined by consular officers that they are coming to the US primarily to offer birth.

It is a big hurdle to prove they’re traveling to the US because they need a medical need and not merely because they need to offer birth here. Those with medical needs must prove they need the cash to buy it, including transportation and living expenses.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said, “Closing this glaring immigration loophole will combat these endemic abuses and ultimately protect u. s. from the national security risks created by this practice”.

“It also will defend American taxpayers from having their hard-earned dollars siphoned away to finance the direct and downstream costs related to birth tourism. The integrity of yank citizenship must be protected.”

The practice of traveling to the USA to offer birth is fundamentally legal, although there are complex cases of authorities arresting operators of birth tourism agencies for visa fraud. Women are often honest about their intentions while applying for visas and even show signed contracts with doctors and hospitals.

The US State Department “does not believe that visiting the USA for the first purpose of obtaining US citizenship for a toddler, by parturition within us an activity commonly mentioned as birth tourism, maybe a legitimate activity for pleasure or of a recreational nature,” consistent with the new rules.

While the new rules specifically with birth tourism, the Trump administration also has stopped pregnant women from coming over the U.S.-Mexico border as a part of a broader immigration crackdown.

In the beginning, women were a part of a vulnerable group that included young children who were allowed in. At the same time, tens of thousands of other asylum seekers going back to Mexico to attend out their cases.

Regulating tourist visas for pregnant women is a method to urge at the difficulty, but it raises questions on how officers would determine whether a lady is pregnant.

Birth Tourism is a Lucrative business

Birth tourism may be a lucrative business in the USA and other countries. Many of the women travel from Russia and China to offer birth in the USA.

The US has been cracking down on the practice for a decade.

An entire birth tourism industry has evolved to help pregnant women from other countries to return to us to get US citizenship for his or her children by parturition within the US. And thereby entitle their children to the advantages folks citizenship, consistent with the State Department rules.

There is no percentage of foreign women visiting the US specifically to offer birth. According to Immigration Studies, in 2012 about 36,000 foreign-born women gave birth within the US than left the country.
