Users concerned as ChatGPT found leaking conversations
Ever since its debut in November, 2022, ChatGPT is in use by millions of users
A ChatGPT malfunction has enabled some users to view tiltes of other people’s conversations as revealed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. He expressed his deep regrets over the crucial mistake but confirmed that the problem had been fixed.
The ChatGPT users shared screenshots of chat logs on social media sites like Twitter and Reddit and claimed that the chats were not their own. Despite OpenAI CEO’s claim that the issue has been resolved, users still remain concerned about their privacy on the application.
Ever since its debut in November, 2022, ChatGPT is in use by millions of users. The application has been used to compose music, messages and also for programs. The interactions with Chatbot are saved in the user’s history and only the user has access to view it later on in future.
Earlier, users saw conversation histories in their accounts that they didn’t themselves had with the Chatbot. A Reddit user took to the platform to post a screenshot of chat history which had conversations in Mandarin and also included titles like ‘Chinese Socialism Development.’
After the issue was brought into light, OpenAI gave a statement that the chatbot had been temporarily deactivated to fix the issue. It was also stated that the users were unable to gain access to their own chats when the problem occured.
The glitch has raised concerns on OpenAI’s access to conversations that are private making people worried about data breaches. OpenAI’s CEO took to Twitter to reveal that a technical postmortem would be conducted to get into the depth of the matter.
