Anwer Maqsood’s stage drama on Imran Khan to hit theaters soon

Famed and recognized Pakistani writer Anwar Maqsood’s upcoming work revolves around the life of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Though it is too early to say if it will be based on Khan’s early cricket days or political career, there is one big news we have for now: Usman Mukhtar is all set to play the role.

Usman Mukhtar announced the news on his Instagram, telling his friends that his upcoming play, Naach Na Jaanay, with the acclaimed Kopykats Productions will feature premier while the character will be played by him.

He further told that the play is written by Anwar Maqsood and directed by Dawar Mehmood. It will be premiered on at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) on 24th July.

“So this is happening!! I’m playing Imran Khan in Anwar Maqsood’s and @kopykatsproduction next production Naach na Jaanay premiering 24th July at Pnca Islamabad. #kopykats#usmanmukhtar #anwarmaqsood,” Usman’s caption read.

The theme and story of the play is yet unclear if it will focus on Khan’s early days or political career, however, the photo indicates it is based on his youth years.

Usman Mukhtar – A rising star:

Usman Mukhtar came to national fame after his recent star-studded performance in HUM TV drama serial ”Anaa”. His character as a young, stern and arrogant man who knows what to do in every situation garnered him some massive following among Pakistani masses.

The hopes are up regarding his upcoming play as well. It can be safely said that the 33 years old is quite an ideal choice for it, for his past appearances has set the bar high.
