Vehicle Ownership Can Now Be Changed at NADRA’s E-Convenience Centre in Punjab – Here’s How
As per the available details, NADRA will provide as many as 250 biometric scanners, fifty for Lahore and the rest for other districts of the province, to the excise department.
In collaboration with the National Database And Registration Authority (NADRA), the Punjab government has made changing the ownership of vehicle much easier now!
Apart from excise offices in the province, ownership of vehicles can be changed at NADRA centres. The authority has put up more than 1,800 E-Convenience centres. According to a report published in The Express Tribune, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and NADRA have been working together for the last two years in this regard.
As per the available details, NADRA will provide as many as 250 biometric scanners to the excise department, fifty for Lahore and the rest for other districts of the province. NADRA will be given access to the vehicle ownership data of the excise department to make it easy for both seller and buyer to change ownership at the NADRA E-Convenience centres.
Here’s How it Will Work:
The seller will have to visit NADRA’s E-Convenience centre. He will be required to pay a certain amount of fee for changing the ownership of the vehicle. Following biometric verification of the seller, the vehicle in question will be updated with the buyer’s name CNIC and cellphone numbers.
“Both the seller and buyer will receive a confirmation SMS following this step. The text will inform the buyer how much they have to pay to finalise the change of ownership vehicle,“
reads the news report.
A smart registration card will be sent to the new owner a few days after the fee is paid. The fee is required to be paid within 30 days or the entire procedure will have to be carried out again from the start.
