Renowned senior actor Firdous Jamal passed the misogynist remarks in a segment of Faisal Qureshi’s show on ARY Zindagee. Firdous Jamal touched the new low when Faisal Qureshi asked him to comment on the picture of ‘Hamsafar’ star. He said: “I’m sorry to say but Mahira Khan is not the heroine stuff. She is a mediocre sort of a model.”

She is not a good actress and not a heroine, he continued speaking oddly against Mahira Khan – the star performer who has managed to win the hearts of public through her acting debut.

The irony begins when he touched the more soft spot especially when it comes to the society like that of Pakistan and said that the actress is aged and the heroines are not supposed to be of that much age.

Firdous Jamal also advised her to take the role of a mother on TV screen indirectly by saying that at such an age they(actresses) usually perform the role of mother, not the heroines.

His cold-blooded remarks already suffered a huge backlash on social media outlets and enraged so many people and forced the host of the show to respond to the disgruntled and sarcastic remarks.

Whatever he(Firdous Jamal) said regarding the actress was his personal opinion and has nothing to do with myself and my show on ARY, replied Faisal Qureshi quoting that viral video clip of Jamal in which he took a new turn to define a women performer.

The host of the show also made it clear that no doubt Mahira Khan is a superstar and I was just talking about the level of hit that her film could have hit but didn’t. I praised the actress thousands of times in my show but one has mentioned that.

What do you think about the place of women in a third-world country like Pakistan where such misogynist mindset prevails against the already doomed section of society? Let us know in the comment section below
