Video: Here’s why Shahid Afridi is not happy with Shaheen Afridi

Shahid Afridi feels that the fast bowler could have bowled better against Australia.

Former captain of the national cricket team, Shahid Afridi, has reprimanded fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi for conceding three consecutive sixes against Australia in the semi final of the T20 world cup.

The former cricketer isn’t happy with the way Shaheen bowled in the 19th over. Australian wicket-keeper Mathew Wade smashed the Pakistani fast bowler for three sixes in a row to win the semi final by five wickets.

“I am not happy with Shaheen in one area. Okay, so Hasan Ali dropped a catch but that does not mean you will bowl badly and get hit for three successive sixes,” Shahid Afridi said.

Shahid Afridi feels the left-arm pacer should have used his pace sensibly. He added that the dropped catch was no excuse for bowling poorly.

Even if the catch was dropped. He should have used his head and tried to bowl outside off stump fast Yorkers with his pace. He is not that sort of bowler to be hit like that,” the former Pakistan captain added.

According to ‘Lala’, the semi final would prove to be a big learning experience for Shaheen Afridi in his future. He was all praise for the fast bowler for the way he bowled with the new ball.

“I would say he was brilliant in the tournament and I have only seen either Wasim bhai (Akram) or perhaps Muhammad Amir bowl like this with the new ball. He is giving good performances. I hope he learns from this cricket experience and prepares himself for the future,” he said.

Shaheen Shah Afridi had an exceptional start to the tournament when he delivered a man of the match performance against India in the opening match. In the semi final, he proved to be a great threat to the Aussie batting line up as he got rid of Aaron Finch in the very first over.
