VIDEO: ‘There are some people who do not let me meet PM Imran Khan’, says Aamir Liaquat

A few days ago, a video of Aamir Liaqat Hussain went viral on the internet in which he was commenting on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ration drive for the underprivileged. He also spoke about social media trolling – something that he falls victim to quite often.

Recently a video of Dr. Liaquat became the topic of the town, in which he was seen with Chairman of Jafaria Disaster Management Cell (JDC) Zafar Abbas. JDC is a non-governmental organization that has been actively taking part in welfare activities during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Zafar’s brother Aoun claimed that provincial and federal government representatives are taking ration from JDC and are distributing it in their districts. After the video spread like wildfire across social media, Independent Urdu, a reputed media platform reached out to Dr. Aamir Liaquat to question him about it.

Aamir Liaquat was questioned if he is disappointed in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s welfare initiatives. He said that in the video, JDC’s Zafar Abbas was asking him if the government is not doing anything in the regard, to which he replied that it is not the case.

Liaquat said that currently, the government is providing 250 ration bags per district. Hence, they are trying their best but they cannot do it alone. The war against COVID-19 must be fought collectively on all fronts.

‘All these efforts need to be collective. However, in my personal opinion, the expectations that I had from Riasat-e-Madina have not been fulfilled’, said Aamir Liaquat.

Adding to it, Liaquat said that he is a veteran politician as compared to Faisal Vawda and Ali Zaidi, who have won for the first time in Karachi. However, despite that, he is not being consulted on significant matters and ”some people are not letting him meet PM Khan”.
