VIDEO: Sanjay Dutt says he started doing chars to ‘impress girls’, later became an addict

Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt has always been surrounded by several controversies relating to his career or personal life. But he has made the biggest headlines for his struggles with drug addiction.

The actor recently appeared in an interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia. During the candid conversation, Sanjay Dutt talked about many things and made shocking confessions about his drug addiction.

Details of the Interview

Speaking about drug addiction, Sanjay Dutt said:

Doing drugs was the ‘cool’ thing at that time. I had to make up my mind. What happens when you’re into intense drug addiction? You become a loner. I had become like that. I was a hard nut to crack, and I was at the rehab center for two years, which is rare. I couldn’t just accept that I was a drug addict.

He further shared:

However, when I experienced fun activities with other patients at the rehab center, I realized that I had been missing out on a lot. This is what life is; why was I missing that? For ten years, I was in my room or the bathroom and not interested in shoots. But this is what life is, and that’s how everything changed.

Explaining how he bounced back, Sanjay Dutt said:

When I came back, people used to call me charsi. And I thought, galat hai yeh. People on the road are saying this. Kuch karna padega. So I started working out. I wanted to break through that. And then from charsi, it became a guy with swag and ‘kya body hai’.

Sanjay Dutt’s Addiction led him to Cancer

Did you know that Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer? However, he battled his cancer like a true warrior and came out victorious.

Sharing a note on social media about his cancer victory, the remarkable Bollywood star wrote:

The last few weeks were a very difficult time for my family and me. But like they say, God gives the hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. And today, on the occasion of my kids’ birthday, I am happy to come out victorious from this battle and be able to give them the best gift I can – the health and well-being of our family. I thank my fans, friends, and family for their unwavering faith and support.
