Even after retirement, Shahid Afridi is considered as the most explosive batsman in international cricket.
Just in his first innings in international cricket, Afridi scored the fastest century ever. The 40-year-old has many records to his name including the most sixes in international cricket amongst others.
But there are some other records that most people don’t know about. One such record is of hitting 4 sixes in 4 four balls across four formats, One day internationals, Test, T20 and T10.
4 Consecutive Sixes in Test:
In a test match between their arch-rivals in Lahore, Shahid Afridi smashed Harbajhan Singh 4 times into the stands. This happened during India’s tour of Pakistan in 2006.
4 Consecutive sixes in ODIs:
The Sri Lankans used to be one of the favorite opponents of Shahid Afridi. Shahid Afridi hit four consecutive sixes against Malinga Bandara of Sri Lanka in an ODI in Abu Dhabi. Afridi got 32 runs off that over.
4 Consecutive Sixes in T20Is:
Boom Boom Afridi was absolutely on fire when he faced his former Pakistan Super League team, Peshawar Zalmi in Sharjah. He hit four sixes against two different bowlers, Sameen Gul and Liam Dawson.
Sameen Gul was smacked for 3 and Dawson for one six.
4 Consecutive Sixes in T10:
The hard-hitting all-rounder went on to make his mark in the newly introduced format of cricket, T10. Afridi hit his fellow countrymen, Waha Riaz, four times over the boundary rope.
