Video: Shahid Afridi Wants TikTok To Be Banned

TikTok banLast month, famous short-video platform – TikTok – was yet again banned by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) over the company’s failure to take down  “inappropriate content”.

It has been getting immense popularity ever since its launch. The craze for getting more views and likes has taken the lives of many youngsters.

Tons of petitions have been filed in the courts and protest have been held calling for ban on the app. Now, former captain of the national cricket team – Shahid Afridi – has also asked for ban on the Chinese social media application.

During a show on a local channel, the former captain asked Shehzad Roy to get the app banned.

“You raise voice for everything, get TikTok banned as well,” Afridi asked the singer.

In response to Shahid Afridi’s demand, Shehzad Roy asked why he wants the app to be banned.

“In most of our remote areas, WiFi reached before education,” the cricketer answered.

He added that  there have been multiple incidents due to TikTok. Shahid Afridi thinks that Pakistanis still don’t know the right use of this app. Boom Boom Afridi also expressed his displeasure over the usage of mobile phone by kids.
