Video: World’s Heaviest Test Cricketer Makes History As He Takes a 10-Wicket Haul Against Afghanistan
This was the first time in over two years that a spinner managed to take 10 wickets in a match in India.
World’s heaviest test cricketer, Rahkeem Cornwall of West Indies, has stunned everyone with his brilliant display of spin bowling during the first test match against Afghanistan.
The 26-year-old took his first 10-wicket haul against Afghanistan to put his side in a strong position. Afghanistan was bowled out for 187 runs in their first innings after getting to a good start against the Caribbeans.
Rahkeem Cornwall produced a magical bowling spell of 7/75 in the first innings to give his team the upper hand. He got the key wickets of Rahmat Shah, Ihsanullah, Ibrahim Zadran, and Asghar Afghan.
Afghanistan, yet again, after restricting West Indies to 277 runs, failed to put up a show with the bat in their second innings as they were struggling at 109/7 at the end of day 2. Rahkeem Cornwall once again took three wickets to complete his 10-wicket haul.
This was the first time in over two years that a spinner managed to take 10 wickets in a match in India. The last time a spin bowler got 10 wickets in a test match was back in 2017 when Australia’s Steve O’Keefe took 12/70 against India in Pune.
Moreover, Rahkeem Cornwall also became the first West Indian spinner to claim a ten wicket haul in a Test match in the subcontinent.
