Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has responded to Pakistan’s all format skipper Babar Azam’s message on Twitter.

The Pakistani captain had sent a message of support to Kohli following his failure to score runs with the bat. Babar Azam took to his Twitter and wrote, “this too shall pass.”

Now, Virat Kohli has replied to Babar Azam’s tweet. In his response, the Indian cricketer thanked Babar Azam for his support. “Keep shining and rising,” he replied. Virat Kohli also wished the Pakistan batter best of luck.

Babar’s gesture was widely hailed on social media by fans, former cricketers and cricket pundits from Pakistan and India as well as other countries. During the press conference ahead of Pakistan’s first test against Sri Lanka, the Pakistani captain was asked about his tweet.

Replying to the question, Babar Azam said: “”As a player myself, I know you can go through such a phase (out of form) and I also know what a player goes through in such a phase. In those times, you need support. I just tweeted thinking that it will give just some support. He is one of the best players.”

He added that Kohli knows how to get out of this situation. “It takes time, if you back players, it will be really good,” he said.
