Volkswagen Unveils Plan To Launch Cars in Pakistan

Last year, it was reported that Premier Motors had signed an agreement with Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) for the local manufacturing of Volkswagen (VW) and Skoda vehicles in Pakistan.

Now, we have received further updates in this regard. According to the latest reports, the company has scrapped its initial plan to launch the Transporter van and the Amarok pickup truck in Pakistan.

General Manager of Engineering Development Board (EDB), Asim Ayaz, in a podcast for Pakwheels.com, has revealed alternate plans for the Pakistani market. According to him, Premier Motors plans to launch compact and subcompact SUVs of VW and Skoda in the local market.

VW contacted them regarding the Amarok pickup truck, informing them that “Amarok Truck and Transporter Van have been discontinued internationally.” This is why they want to replace them with two new cars. Volkswagen’s vehicles will most likely be launched next year in Pakistan.
