To make the process of applying for a license more convenient and easy, an online application system has been introduced for issuing a driving license. This online system will make the process more relaxing and less time-taking.

With the efforts of PITB (Pakistan Information Technology Board), you can simply apply for a license by DLIMS’s digital system. Through this, in 36 districts of Punjab, driver license can be issued.

The procedure is short and easy. All you have to do is login to the DLIMS website, download the form required, and fill it. Then, the required documents are submitted to the licensing center. The initial theoretical test has to be passed after a licensing period of 42 days. And in the end, you have to take a driving test.

However, if you want to renew your license then the theoretical test is not conducted, all you need to do is submit the documents.

The documents needed for the renewing of driving license are:

  • The application form E closed in a cover
  • 2 CNIC copies
  • 2 Photos (Passport-sized)
  • Original Driving License
  • Fee ticket (as mentioned in the License Document)
  • Ticket of the relating license
  • Medical reports

A fee is also charged for issuing of the license, and this depends on the vehicle you’re driving.
Your license is renewed for 5 years, and the renewing doesn’t cost anything if you renew it within the timespan of one month.

On the other hand, if you renew it after a period of 1 to 3 months, then a 50% fee will be charged. If the time you take is even more than that then like, 3 months to 1 year then you will have to pay 100% of the fee.

This process is really simple, it saves you a lot of trips to the licensing center and barely takes any time.
