WATCH: How Tiger Force is playing its role in controlling prices and hoarding
The youth volunteer force has conducted a number of successful raids so far.
The district administrations of Lahore and Sialkot have conducted several successful raids after the Tiger Force reported cases of hoarding and artificial inflation.
As per the available reports, different task forces of the district administrations of both cities detained huge stocks of flour, sugar, and rice that were kept unlawfully. Several shops have also been sealed for illegal and unauthorized profiteering.
Apart from seizing bulk items and sealing involved shops, district administrations also imposed hefty penalties upon the collectors and illegitimate exploiters. FIRs were also registered to initiate legal proceedings against them.
In a meeting held last week at Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan formally directed Tiger Force volunteers to notice the market prices and recognize the hoarding of vital commodities in their neighborhoods.
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, directed the related officials to confirm the availability of necessary food items at the government-approved costs in the local markets.
A statement issued by the Principal Secretary to CM Punjab stated the CM had instructed the district administration officers to frequently visit the local markets to observe the prices and prepare a report of their visits.
