‘Western women have lost their husband’s loyalty’, says Sirajul Haq

Besides the main Aurat March, the JI’s women’s wing staged a massive rally in Islamabad during which a charter of demands was presented that called for stating acts such as honour killing, and marriage with the Quran as being contrary to Islamic values.
The Senator addressed the rally and announced that all men who had declined to give their sisters their due share in their inheritance would not be given tickets to contest the upcoming elections.
Haq further said that neither men nor women dominated Pakistani society; instead, Islam dominates it. He assured to raise problems of women in the upper house of parliament.
Importance of Women
Sirajul Haq also cited how the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stressed on the importance of women in Islam and repeated that Islam granted a woman many roles in private and political affairs.
The chief guaranteed to continue the struggle for women’s rights and said that the whole year must be devoted to the respect and dignity for women.
Siraj-ul-Haq has demanded that the government should provide 33% of the education budget to women and that the government should legislate for the protection of women working in offices.
The Charter added that the media should stop the exploitation of women. Women should be given equal rights in the Assembly for legislative and political representation . He added that women should be appointed permanently instead of ad hoc in government institutions.
