Federal Bureau of Revenue has collected Rs. 3842 billion during the fiscal year 2017-2018 reaching a magnificent amount of growth around 14.1pc. As compared to the previous year, the collections were higher when calculated in absolute terms and estimated to be Rs474.2 billion.
Revenues of Pakistan are continuously growing and generating every year. The largest contribution is continually delivered by Karachi, which is considered as the commercial hub of the country.
Karachi is known as the business capital of Pakistan and the revenue collected by the city is more than the revenue generated by the entire province of Punjab.
According to the Yearbook 2017-18 of FBR, the contribution of Karachi has been observed as Rs. 980. 766 Billion of the entire tax produced from the domestic sources, which make its contribution to 41pc.
Islamabad is the second-largest city of Pakistan when it comes to the generation of revenues. A large amount of population who pay taxes lives in Islamabad. The contribution of Islamabad was estimated to be 480.161 billion in the fiscal year 2018-2019.

Sindh surpassed all the other provinces:
According to FBR Sindh surpassed all the other provinces in generating revenues. In 2018, Sindh generated Rs44.3 billion revenues while revenue generation of Punjab decreased in the year 2018 as compared to the previous year. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan collected revenues of 4.4 billion and 2.8 billion respectively.
