WhatsApp launches four new features including message reactions
WhatsApp had been long working on multiple features including the much awaited message reactions.
Last month, the meta-owned messaging platform confirmed that it will soon roll out Message Reactions and 2GB File Sharing features. And now, these features have finally been rolled out for some users.
In the past, WhatsApp only allowed files and media sharing of up to 100MB size. Now, users will be able to send much bigger files such as HD videos as the media sharing limit has been increased to 2GB.
The Message Reactions feature has been rolled out in some regions. Initially, only six emojis – 👍🏻❤️😂😯😢🙏– will be available for users. However, in the future, “all emojis and skin tones” will be made available.
Furthermore, the participants limit in Groups has been doubled, which means up to 512 users can be added in a WhatsApp group. The participants limit for group calls has also been increased to 32 people.
In the future, WhatsApp plans to launch more features such as the “Companion device” which will allow the users to use one WhatsApp account on more than one phones or tablets.
