Who wrote PSL 7 Anthem?

With the Pakistan Super League (PSL) seventh edition just around the corner, cricket fans are getting excited by the day. To intensify the audience’s excitement for the mega event, PSL has recently released its anthem song for 2022.

The HBL PSL edition 7 anthem has been titled Agay Dekho. According to reports, the theme of the song is inspirational and motivational. The lyrics and music are aimed at uplifting the mood of the fans as the world passes through tough and testing times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Who wrote PSL 7 Anthem?

The latest PSL anthem has been written by three big names of the music industry – Natasha Noorani, Sami Khan, and Maanu. The anthem Agay Dekho is sung by the power-packed singing duo Atif Aslam and Aima Baig, while Abdullah Siddiqui produces the song video.

About the singers who wrote the PSL 7 Anthem:

1. Natasha Noorani

Natasha Noorani is a singer-songwriter, playback singer, and voice-over artist who started performing at the age of 14. She released her debut EP ‘Munaasib’ in 2018, which unveiled her diverse range as a singer-songwriter by exposing her R’n’B, neo-soul, and progressive rock influences. Noorani’s multi-faceted approach towards Pakistani music enables her to serve as a liaison between the artists, the Government of Pakistan, and various cultural bodies such as UNESCO and the British Council. It is pertinent to mention that she is the Co-Founder and Festival Director of the premier music festival cum symposium, Lahore Music Meet (LMM), taking place annually since 2015.

2. Sami Khan

Singer Sami Khan is quite popular among the young generation. He started singing at a very early age and has been winning hearts with his songs ever since. Sami belongs to Peshawar and has lived most of his life there. The singer started his journey from the single ‘Main Yaad Aounga’ and is now famous for mesmerizing Pakistani dramas OSTs. The lyricist has several awards to his name, too, like the SEMPA award 2019 and the Lux Style Award 2020 for the best OST.

3. Maanu

Rehman Afshar, popularly known as Maanu, is the latest most famous singer on the block, who releases local pop and R&B music which incorporates vocals in both English and Urdu. The young singer and songwriter wrote his first song in 2016. Fast forward to today, Maanu has recently released his debut album ‘Yain City’. He writes music inspired by real-life experiences and feelings to resonate with his audience deeper.

The producer of the anthem, Abdullah Siddiqui, said:

Getting to produce this anthem is a dream for any musician, and I’m very honored and thankful to the PCB for the opportunity this year. Both Atif Aslam and Aima Baig are undeniably the best, and working with them has been a privilege. I’m very excited for fans to hear what we have come up with. We have tried to produce a song that captures the spirit of the game in a meaningful way while still being very fun and catchy.
