Australia’s white-ball cricket team’s skipper Aaron Finch has opened up about the possibility of Babar Azam playing in the Big Bash League (BBL). It should be noted that a number of Pakistani players have been part of the Australia’s T20 league in the past including Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Shahid Afridi and others.

Last year in December, it was reported that Babar Azam turned down the offer to play in the BBL due to personal reasons. Talking to reporters following the third and final ODI, the Aussie skipper was asked if he would like to see the Pakistani captain in the BBL.

Replying to the question, the right handed batter said that he asked Babar Azam if he’s interested in coming and playing for the Melbourne Renegades. He added that he is interested and hopefully the signing will be announced soon. Of course, he was joking.

However, Aaron Finch stated that it would be great to have world class players in the Australia’s domestic competition. He also also heaped praise on Babar Azam and called him as good as anyone. Moreover, he was also all praise for the ‘extraordinary’ talent of Pakistan cricket.

“If Babar Azam is available to play Big Bash, any team would love to have him,” the Australian skipper added.

Replying to a tweet, BBL franchise Melbourne Stars tagged Haris Rauf and asked him to tell Babar Azam he would look good in ‘Green’.
