According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, they have already issued as many as 5,276,913 Umrah visas since the season started late October. The ministry also informed that Pakistan tops the list with 1,129,965 pilgrims performing Umrah.
Pakistan was followed by Indonesia, which has sent 760,245 pilgrims – as Saudi Gazette reports. As the ministry reports, a total of 4,798,057 Umrah pilgrims came to Saudi Arabia until last Thursday. 4,309,937 pilgrims had already returned back to their respective countries after performing Umrah while 337,614 were still in Makkah to complete their rites.
The report also added that 150,506 pilgrims were still in the sacred city of Madinah paying homage to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), praying at his mosque.
