In yet another horrific incident, a married woman was allegedly raped by two men in front of her husband and children in a suburban area of Taunsa Sharif on Friday.

According to details, two men Ilahi Bakhsh and Fayyaz Ahmed barged into the victim’s house around 11 pm and gang-raped the woman in front of her husband and children. They also threatened the family with dire consequences before fleeing the scene.

The victim’s family approached the DSP Taunsa and Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, but no one listened to them. Later on, the Police lodged a case but failed to arrest the culprits.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Usman Bazdar, took notice of the unfortunate incident and ordered the RPO Dera Ghazi Khan to present a report.

Earlier, the newly appointed Police Chief of Lahore, Umar Shaikh, while speaking to various news channels blamed the woman who was gang-raped on the Sialkot-Lahore motorway. He criticized the woman for traveling alone late at night. He blamed her again for not having ample petrol in her car and said women should not go out alone after midnight because of the mindset of our society.

In this case, the Taunsa rape victim was inside her home, and she was with her husband, but even that could not save her.

Police in every country or state are responsible for protecting their citizens and controlling crimes of sexual violence. However, every now and then, those who are supposed to protect them end up blaming women for being raped.

  • STOP MAKING MOUNTAIN OUT OF BLOODY MOLEHILLS. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? IF THE GUY MADE A WRONG STATEMENT LATER HE CLARIFIED IT. THIS TREND OF POLITICISING THINGS UNNECESSARILY MUST STOP. BECAUSE IT IS SHIFTING THE FOCUS AWAY FROM THE TERRIBLE CRIME.

  • I am a woman but still my first reaction was the same, why the hell at that time she was going alone with kids?? Its a precautionary statement if took positivity but media twisted it badly.

    • I agree with you…. Country like Pakistan, specially punjab is full of corruption and dangerous for men as well as women…. So woman alone, 3 children, 2 am in morning, lot of money, expensive car, no petrol, etc are not a good sign and very very stupid move by this woman… Although I am sorry for her and government must take action against the men.

  • Wow, really, people are trying to lay even a part of the blame on this poor woman who endured rape, violence, and her home not being a place she can feel safe??? What is this world coming to??? Those 2 men should be hung or executed in a horrible way for what they’ve done. And the police to have put ANY blame onto this poor woman, I’m sickened by that as well. To the woman, ‘ I’m so very sorry that you have endured such violence and fear’, I only hope that she can heal from these awful scars!

  • they should look culpert in police this is inside job just they trying to close the case check every officer cell locations and call history

  • Pakistan mein qanoon ke hukmarani na hone ke waja sirf aur sirf hamari judiciary hai,, hamare judge aik number k nikamme aur corrupt hein, pakistan mein agar her idara chahe jitna he corrupt kiu na ho jaey agar judiciary corrupt na ho aur insaf pasand ho to kisi ka baap b crime karne k baad buch nahi sakta,, but yaha to aawa ka aawa he corrupt hai,,
