World Travel and Tourism Council Puts Pakistan In Spotlight As A Favorite Tourist Destination

Pakistan is back in the spotlight as a favorite tourist destination.

According to a report revealed by the World Travel and Tourism Council, due to reforms introduced by the government, the total contribution of travel and tourism to gross domestic product is set to increase from $22 billion in 2017 to approximately $40 billion by 2028.

The Vice President of development for Radisson Hotel groups, Elie Milky, said, “Radisson Hotel Group plans to have ten hotels and 2,000 rooms in operation and under development across Pakistan by 2025.”

Milky further said, “Pakistan is witnessing an increase in its economy as the safety situation in the country continues to improve. The current tourism infrastructure is still comparatively under-developed, which presents itself with huge opportunities to rely on.”

The country is also experiencing expanded economic development due to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The project aims to improve infrastructure and promote tourism between China and Pakistan.

The massive project is worth $62 billion.
