Yasir Shah’s 7-Digit Send-off: Steve Smith Ran 3 Km To Team Hotel To Punish Himself
Reportedly, Steve Smith missed the team's bus after the end of the day and ran 3 Kilometers back to the hotel in order to punish himself.
Although Australia comfortably beat Pakistan in the first match of the two test match series in Brisbane, Steve Smith was more frustrated than the losing side.
The former Australian captain couldn’t even make it to the double figures before throwing his wicket away to the Pakistani leggie on just 4 runs. After getting him out, Yasir Shah raised his seven fingers to remind the World’s No.1 test batsman of the number of times he has got him out.

Reportedly, Steve Smith missed the team’s bus after the end of the day and ran 3 Kilometers back to the hotel in order to punish himself. Talking to media, Smith said that he punishes himself if he fails to get runs and also rewards himself with a chocolate bar at the end of the night if he gets a hundred.
“So yeah, if I get no runs I always like to have a run or go to the gym or do something just to give myself a bit of a punishment,” Steve Smith said.
The former Aussies captain is keen on getting runs against Yasir Shah following the unique send-off at Brisbane.
“It [the send-off] gave me a bit more motivation next game to not get out to him. So I will probably be a little bit more disciplined against him,” Smith added further.

The two teams will be locking horns against each other on Friday in a day-night game at the Adelaide Oval. Pakistan is likely to make two changes for the final game of the series. Mohammad Abbas and Imam ul Haq are expected to be back in the squad.
